Jessica Smith goes to Caesar Chavez Elementary School once a week and sits down with a second grader to read. She reads for half an hour and sometimes helps the students in Spanish. The program is called S.M.A.R.T. and stands for “start making a reader today.” Jessica has been helping her buddy to learn how to read since September 2015.

Matthew Aylworth visited Cascade Middle School to tell an 8th grade US History Class about a lawyer’s role in upholding the Constitution of the United States. He also taught the 8th graders about the rights listed within the Bill of Rights. The students learned much from Mr. Aylworth, and had a fun time doing so.
