During the month of November, the Egan Warming Center in Lane County opened for the season. The Egan Warming Center (implemented by St. Vincent de Paul of Lane County) is a coalition of community members representing service providers, nonprofits, faith and social activists communities and local government who have come together since 2008 to ensure that homeless people have shelter during extreme cold weather. The Warming Centers open when temperatures drop below 30 degrees between November 15 and March 31. The Warming Center Website can be found at: http://eganwarmingcenter.com/aboutus.html.

Throughout November, Gordon, Aylworth & Tami employees gathered donations for the Warming Center, and the firm took a shopping trip to matched those donations. Everything from blankets and sleeping bags, to hats, gloves, and sweatshirts, and even hand soap and other necessities were in our care packages, which we dropped off on December 2. We hope our team effort will help our community members stay warm as the temperatures drop below freezing this season.
